A proper update...
Here are the befores and afters of the bathroom. There are still a fair few finishing touches to fix, including the ceiling, bath panel and window. We'll start on these in the New Year. Top priority is to get the door back on for when we've got guests!
In the living room we finished the cream (Whisper of Liquer) coats of paint and the ceiling as in the photos from last week. Also finally got some curtains up. Now I'm on the hunt for a Voile blind.
The living room just needs 2 coats of paint on the 'feature' wall, then we can put our brushed chrome light and sockets back on! Can't wait for that. Also need to put the new lights up and get a carpet (think I've convinced Colin that carpet is better than laminate...)
We've also decided to use wallpaper on the landing wall that we've newly built for the bathroom. We went to B&Q and each chose 3 wallpapers we liked and we both picked this one:

3rd coat
I painted the room "A whisper of liquer" today (apart from one wall which will soon be painted "Liquer". It looks so much nicer already, it feels warmer as the bright white was just too cold feeling.
These are some photos I took on my phone back in July when we first moved in...might give you an idea of how far we've come:
I promised a photo (to someone) of the original wall for the bathroom. This is the one we've knocked down and rebuilt:

We're still here...
I haven't posted in a while, but that's because we've been having some time off from the DIY. The bathroom is going to be started to be fitted on Monday, so hopefully lots of pictures of the progress of that.
I'm going to start doing some small jobs in the evenings again as I feel ready to DIY again.

Tap replacements have arrived in shop...
Wow that was pretty quick. We only phoned yesterday, so I'm pleased with the service there. Fingers crossed there are no more scratches.

Bedroom 2 - nearly done
We used Matt Calico paint because we got in cheap from B&Q. I think it looks like a very very pale magnolia. It's a good starting point for the room. Tonight we plan to get the curtains up and start moving furniture in there. For those not in the know, carpets will be done at the end of the entire project, so we're looking at another 6 - 12 months before it gets carpeted.
In the left hand picture you can see our bodge job at hiding what was once a piece of glass above the door. I think it looks OK for now. Needs another coat of paint and maybe a bit of sealer around the edges where my plastering skills haven't quite come up to standard :)

Busy day for me
I've been busy today. First new pictures of the living room. It's drying out nicely I think.
I painted the ceiling in Bedroom 2 and sanded the skirting board ready for a coat of paint.
I filled in the edges of the filled in bits above the doors (where the glass was).
As I had the paint out I got a bit carried away and quickly whipped white paint around the kitchen. It looks a little cleaner now :) I also took the disconnected plug socket out and filled it. It needs more filling before I paint it.
